Topic: Experience | Knowledge Level: Beginner, Intermediate

This presentation examines the life trajectory of a child sex trafficking victim identified on Tinder in January 2017. One of the presenters is the now 19-year- old survivor herself. Through her personal story, along with an examination of the failings of the system designed to protect victims like her, this workshop demonstrates the value of working with survivors to improve the system moving forward so that no one else has to face the trauma of sex trafficking.

Presentation Objectives:

·  Discuss the importance of “see something, say something”.

·  Identify weaknesses in the system designed to protect juvenile sex trafficking victims.

·  Demonstrate the value of working with survivors to identify their needs and improve the system.
