For the first year ever, we are taking YOUR nominations for the awards that are presented during the conference!

Please note, all nominations are due by June 30, 2025!

  • Social Justice Leader Award:

    • This award honors an individual who has shown exceptional commitment and leadership in promoting social justice, particularly in addressing the rights and needs of vulnerable communities affected by human trafficking. Through persistent advocacy, education, service, or community engagement, this person drives tangible, community-level change and exemplifies compassion, integrity, and resilience. Their leadership uplifts others, strengthens collective efforts, and contributes meaningfully to the ongoing fight for equity and human dignity.

    • CLICK HERE to nominate someone for the Social Justice Leader Award. The nominations will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by the IHTSJC Award Committee. Each submission will be scored using a rubric based on alignment with award criteria, commitment to promoting justice, tangible community-level change, and leadership in the community. 

  • Champion for Human Rights and Social Justice Award:

    • This award honors an individual whose work represents the highest level of leadership and influence in advancing human rights and social justice. This individual is a visionary changemaker, whose efforts have led to systemic transformation or large-scale impact, especially on behalf of marginalized or oppressed populations. Through bold activism, innovative advocacy, or groundbreaking policy reform—often in the face of adversity—they have reshaped conversations, institutions, or movements. This award honors those whose legacy of courage and leadership inspires a broader movement for justice, empowering others at every level to act against injustice.

    • CLICK HERE to nominate someone for the Champion for Human Rights and Social Justice Award. The nominations will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by the IHTSJC Award Committee. Each submission will be scored using a rubric based on alignment with award criteria, advancement of human rights and social justice, their impact and outcomes, and community advocacy and reform.

  • Community Cares Award:

    • This award honors an organization, grassroots initiative, or community group that has made a significant, sustained impact in the fight against human trafficking. Recipients demonstrate a collective commitment to prevention, protection, prosecution, or partnership within their community or beyond. Whether through direct services, outreach and education, survivor leadership, or community mobilization, these groups embody what it means to care in action. They fill critical gaps, build trust with those affected, and create lasting change through collaboration and compassion. This award uplifts those who show that true progress is possible when communities unite with purpose.

    • CLICK HERE to nominate someone for the Community Cares Award. The nominations will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by the IHTSJC Award Committee. Each submission will be scored using a rubric based on alignment with award criteria, contribution to anti-trafficking efforts, community collaboration, and a grassroots/survivor-informed approach.

Award winners will be notified via email by August 15, 2025 and will be invited to submit an acceptance video to be shown at the IHTSJ Conference on September 17-19, 2025.
